Our Spirit of Aloha

The spirit of Aloha is a very important part of everyday life in Hawaii. At L&L, you’ll experience the warmth and welcome of the islands through our food and our atmosphere. The spirit of Aloha is also about people. Here are several comments from some of our loyal and satisfied customers!

L and L is loved very much by all kinds of different cultures from all over. The word spreads quickly about the great dishes you serve….L and L Hawaiian BBQ brings back the memories of back home, the delicious Hawaiian Meats (chicken, beef, short ribs, and especially the lau lau and kalua pork!) the Hawaiian beats playing, the joyful faces that greet us every time we visit.. The one closest to us is in San Jose, they have great customer care, excellent food service, and most of all have the ALOHA SPIRIT! Thank you L and L for keeping the Island spirit, and keep up your great work!

I love you’re food. I can’t get enough.

Aloha, Within the last 6 months I have come to find your new store in Fairfield and those of your competition (Ohana & Ono). I have to say how much better your bbq is. Everything I’ve had at L&L is delicious and as authentic as you can get.

My mother lives in Sacramento Ca. and has visited your restaurant there. She loves the food ,and said the macaroni salad was her favorite.

I was recently on a trip in California, and stopped in at one of your restaurants (in Van Nuys). I absolutely loved the food!

  1. When I lived in Hawaii I always went to L&L for either a LocoMoco plate or Chicken Katsu with the sauce. I was so sad when I moved away because that was my favorite place to eat. Lucky me, they have an L&L here in Utah! I still get my favorites – LocoMoco and Chicken Katsu! I love the atmosphere of Aloha and the Hawaiian music that is always playing. Reminds me of home!

I miss L&L all the time. Born and raised in Hawai’i-makes me MISS the food. It wasn’t too bad when I lived in Vegas, but now that I moved to Missouri, I SUFFER! The closet L&L is in Dallas. I guess I gotta drive 6 hours! Thank goodness I’m going home to Vegas in two weeks. GUESS WHAT MY FIRST STOP IS?!? L&L Open one in Missouri or NW Arkansas!!

Utah’s L & L’s restaurant located in Salt Lake City, has the worst customer service ever. they seriously need customer service training in that place, cause that’s not the spirit of Aloha… The Itch on the phone is giving that place a bad name… its the small things like this that can cause the business to lose its daily customers.

Living close by to one, I must say I am pretty lucky. I tried the chicken katsu dish for first time and totally loved it. I feel like being drugged because since then I keep coming back for more.

My wife, Nancy, knew about L&L because a friend took her there, but then I went there with her on one of our dates. The food was delicious and tasted very authentic. It was a great way to start our date. We’ve been to Hawaii before, and we loved it. Now we can have a little bit of the islands here at home. Thanks L&L!

PS I am half Italian and half Croatian, and my wife is 100% Guatemalan. It just shows how much Hawaiian food can be appreciated many different peoples.

I had to move back to misery… I mean missouri.

I miss L&L so much and I’m getting homesick for Cali. Everything was so much better including the food. L&L still has the only macaroni salad I actually like.

Growing up in Hawaii I can remember after a day of surfing country, we would stop and get a plate lunch at L & L. I now live in Florida, no L & L :( , and had always remembered those plate lunches and was always on the lookout wherever I went for a restaurant that served them. On a recent trip to California to my surprise not only did I find what I was looking for, but the same exact place I had been too many times as a kid. Thanks L & L of Huntington Beach for finally making it possible to enjoy a plate lunch and sit and remember warm summer afternoons sitting outside in Kailua town eating a L & L combo.

  9. I loved your food, especially the macaroni salad, but I don’t love the use of styrofoam. Please switch to recycled paper plates or containers made from sugar cane or corn.

About 6 months ago, we heard about L & L from a friend in Hawaii. We visited the Denver location to try it out and now, we can’t get enough! We had a Hawaiian Luau at our home and had L & L cater the event. The food was a HUGE hit!

I moved to San Francisco from Hawaii in 2000, and thus, have been here nearly 10 years. I was delightfully surprised to discover the L&L at Kearny and Bush Streets (a mere 7 blocks from my house) a few years ago. It is a comfort to have the tastes of home so close by. It is also a delight to see how many other people enjoy L&L fare. As Alotutusa of San Jose notes above, L&L truly is “loved very much by all kinds of different cultures from all over”.

I recently moved to Seattle from Hawaii, and needless to say the moment I hit the ground here I was looking for some authentic “Hawaiian Style Grinds”. Well I grew up on L&L’s and knew it would be ono, but was stoked when I finally tried it and it lived up to my expectations.
