EDDIE FLORES $1 MILLION ENDOWMENT OFFERS UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII SCHOLARHIPS

Honolulu, Hawaii – Students from families and employees in the real estate, music or law enforcement industries can now apply for the University of Hawaii at Manoa “Eddie Flores, Jr. & Elaine Flores Scholarship Fund.” The scholarship started in 2007 by Eddie Flores, Jr, President and CEO of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue/L&L Drive-Inn. The scholarship is open to undergraduate or graduate students in any area of study at the Shidler College of Business. The scholarships are available through a $1 million endowment established by the Eddie and Elaine Flores Endowment at the University of Hawaii.

The prospective recipient should have at least a 3.0 GPA for any area of study at the Shidler College of Business. Freshmen and sophomore students are eligible to apply but must have expressed an intention of earning a bachelor’s degree from the Shidler College of Business. Preference shall be given to students from families and employees in the real estate, music or law enforcement industries as self-identified through the application process. Student-athletes will also get preference for the scholarship.

Eddie Flores Scholarship Available for Chaminade University

Honolulu, Hawaii – Students enrolled in the nursing or criminal justice program at Chaminade University can now apply for the “Eddie And Elaine Flores Scholarship.” The scholarship was established in 2012 by Eddie Flores, Jr, President and CEO of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue/L&L Drive-Inn. Eddie is a long-time supporter of Chaminade University and is a member of the Board of Governors. The scholarship amount is $1,000 each for a nursing and criminal justice student for the academic year.

The prospective recipient should have at least a 2.50 GPA and be a full-time undergraduate student in the nursing or criminal justice program at Chaminade University. Preference will be given to students that reside in the Waipahu or Leeward Coast area or students that attended McKinley, Farrington, Radford, Moanalua, Campbell, Kapolei, Pearl City, Waipahu, Nanakuli or Waianae high schools.

Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation with the scholarship application. Qualifying students may contact Chaminade University at (808) 735-4780 for an application or for any questions regarding the scholarship.
